WHAT YOUR SUPPORT MAKES POSSIBLE

Donations pay for the production of the first Zapicons, the small 3D-printed Zapper characters. They also cover testing what fits and works with the 3D printing and the hardware, so the boards, LEDs and buzzers sit properly inside each character and light up on every zap.

Zapper is a family of small devices that light up on every zap on Nostr. There are two sizes, and I am funding them as one project.

Zapper is the lamp. It lights up on every zap. Everything you need is in the device itself: open it in your browser and you manage all your Zappers. No app, no account, nothing to install.

Zapper Mini is the small version. Each one is a 3D-printed pop art character (a ghost, a Bitcoin smiley and a bot so far) with a mini board inside. LEDs light up the eyes and flash the bolt, and a small buzzer gives a sound alert. It runs the same functions as the Zapper.

What is already working

The Zapper is ready to buy for €63, paid in sats only (excl. shipping and USB cables). It comes with:

Zapper Control: all your lamps on one page, with live on and off, zaps and sats, one-tap updates, settings, tunes, Wi-Fi and Nostr for all of them at once.
Zapper Screen: a clean screen for a TV, tablet or shop window. Each lamp shows its Nostr profile and a QR code, so anyone can zap the lamp of their choice.
USB flasher: plug in a cable, press one button, done. Works in Chrome or Edge on a computer.
Firmware 1.15.2: free and signed like Nostr.

The Zapper Mini designs are printed and the Minis are in production. The target price is €21 each, paid in sats only.

Risks and expectations

This is a small studio project with physical hardware, so things can change.

Our goal is to sell the Zapicons for €21 in sats, because we like the number 21. About half of that price is already hardware and 3D printing. With more interest we hope production costs go down, so we can keep the price at €21. If costs stay higher, the price may change.

- Production and delivery times can slip. Parts, printing and shipping all take time, and I will post updates as they happen.
- Components can change. The board has already been swapped for a newer one of the same size, and similar swaps may happen again.
- Prices are in euro but paid in sats, so the sat amount moves with the Bitcoin price.
- Designs and the number of characters may change before release.
- The Zapper depends on Nostr and Lightning. If relays, wallets or the protocol change, I will update the firmware to keep it working.
