Full throttle. Your call.
Road Rush is a Noderunners arcade racer about the road, the clock and the very expensive decision to take one more gap. Pick a driver, learn her car and fight your way through traffic, changing weather and police pressure. Keep the tank alive. Bring the car home. Preferably in one piece.
The game is being built as part of the Noderunners Arcade, alongside Bitcoin Blitz. The current development build already has a playable race, four active drivers, branching routes and six distinct environments. The World Tour video above is captured from that build: real menus, real cars and real in-engine action.
Six places. One very questionable driving style.
This is where the current build can take you:
| Destination |
What changes on the road |
| Green Pastures |
Fields, farm roads, fences and concrete overpasses. Nikki’s home turf, with long stretches to build speed and refuel. |
| Monaco City |
Dense city blocks, old stone, an aqueduct and tight urban racing. The weather can turn and the police do not admire your racing line. |
| Côte d’Azur |
A coastal boulevard, turquoise water, beaches, terraces and open stretches of Riviera road. Beautiful view. Watch the traffic. |
| Alpine Cold |
Snow, ice, a snowplow and divided village roads. Less grip, more reasons to think before touching boost. |
| Alpine Spring |
Valleys, bridges, streams, meadows and wildlife. A different pace and a different set of hazards. |
| Alpine / Italy |
A high mountain pass opening into warmer Italian foothills. The scenery changes; the clock keeps running. |
The route choice is part of the drive. The longer-term ambition is 21 destinations and 21 distinct drivers, arranged into a branching six-stage campaign. That is the development target, not a claim that all 21 are finished. Six environments and four active drivers are shown in the current showcase.
Four drivers. Four ways to get into trouble.
- Nikki — Blue Thunder: a striped V8 muscle car with a tough chassis. Her Iron Block skill reduces fuel lost in collisions.
- Roxie — White Heat: a rear-engine turbo coupé, quick to respond and more planted at speed.
- Jade — Emerald Viper: a green wedge supercar built for fast, committed lines. Aero Lock helps resist the pull of high-speed bends.
- Goldie — Sun Chaser: a light yellow roadster with a more economical approach. Sun Saver rewards knowing when to coast.
Their cars have different acceleration, handling, grip and fuel use. The three drivers you do not choose form the rival field. Raven and the police operate outside that roster.
The road pushes back.
Fuel is a racing decision. Stations have proper entry, service and exit lanes. Carrying fuel and damage into the next stage makes a clean run matter; crossing a start line does not magically repair your decisions.
Weather changes the driving. Clouds, rain, wet-road spray, lightning and thunder are more than a backdrop. Wet and icy surfaces change the available grip and braking. Cars, hazards and police warnings still need to stay readable when the sky turns ugly.
Traffic has rules. Civilian vehicles, rivals, breakdowns, roadworks and police share a physical road. Rivals use fuel, boost and collision rules too. Road warnings give you a chance to react, and police attacks are signalled before they land.
A proper arcade rhythm. Checkpoints, the stage clock, deliberate boost and visible race position keep the run easy to follow. Short decisions create long consequences. That is rather the point.
Built for an arcade. Connected with Lightning.
Road Rush belongs to the shared Noderunners Arcade: a common game selector, controls and payment infrastructure. The current menu includes Free Run, Lightning Run, Local Duel and Tournament. The footage shows the development build; availability of paid modes depends on the cabinet and its backend configuration.
A donation here supports development of the project. It is separate from paying for an in-game run or joining a tournament.
Put your support into the world.
The game already has a sponsor placement system. Two forms are being developed:
- Roadside placement: a logo appears on rotating trackside boards, with a visual style that belongs to the race world.
- Character and car team: a more complete identity across a driver, her car’s livery, a regional show plate, selection artwork and roadside presence.
Existing branded teams in the footage demonstrate the system. They are not a list of new sponsorship slots for sale. Sponsorship does not buy a faster car or a gameplay advantage. Contribution amounts, placement periods, availability and delivery must be agreed before a reward can be offered here.
Free donations will remain available alongside future product donations. Each offered reward will describe its price, placement and delivery commitment.
What comes next.
The next work is to expand the route network, give more drivers their own environments, refine handling and difficulty, improve art and sound, and keep testing on real arcade hardware. The project is already moving; community support helps give that work more room.
Progress, gameplay and delivery commitments will be shared here as the build develops. There is no fixed funding deadline or automatic all-or-nothing refund promise. The clips and screenshots show what exists today.
Stack sats. Run free. Mind the fuel gauge.
